IN TACT Flamenco

 

Research and method, investigating in the fusion of the languages of contemporary dance, contact-improvisation and flamenco with flamenco music of guitar, cajon and singing.

 

IN-TACT FLAMENCO is expanding THE SPACE IN BETWEEN research. It goes from the individual exploration to the improvisation of more bodies in interrelation, in contact, where the touch of flamenco music plays a main role. Playing between the contemporary composition rules and the traditional flamenco improvisation structures of music and dance.

The research through the characteristics of the music and the dance of flamenco, exploring how the resonation of both music and movement penetrate each other and evoke energetic transformation on the individual level and in expansion in the “space” in between the bodies. It’s sensitivity and transformational power expresses itself within the connection.

In the research of IN_TACT FLAMENCO we are exploring, dissolving and questioning the boundaries between the gender-bounded associations made in society on female and male energy. We are placing the focus and highlighting the fluid and hybrid nature of human life-energy. Purifying, paying attention to the territory of the body, which serves other bodies to advance, move, exist, coexist, rise, grow towards the concept of finding freedom within interdependence.
