Oliver Pinchbeck

........ UK)

Oli began juggling at the age of 18 as a way of entertaining himself while travelling. While studying for his degree in Chinese in Beijing, he was lucky enough to discover the Milun School of Traditional Kungfu where he undertook the study of Zhang style Taiji and Milun Five Elements Qigong.

After six years of ‘casual’ training through university and while living in Beijing, Edinburgh and London, Oli began to understand that his addiction to juggling and movement was more than just a hobby. He took the decision to quit his job in digital advertising and make a career in street performance.

Over the course of the next six years, he travelled extensively throughout Europe and further afield,

working both officially at festivals and large-scale performance events, and unofficially on the

streets of cities and towns in Italy, France, UK, Spain, Germany, China, Malaysia, Cambodia

and many more.

Three years ago, he moved to Berlin to start a training and development space for performing art - Katapult (www.katapult.berlin), helping to encourage others to begin with artistic careers as well as catering for the professional development of artists.

As a multi-linguist and a manager/group leader, Oli believes that communication is one of the most important attributes of human behaviour, and focuses his research on the sensitivity of understanding of verbal and non-verbal communication. This interest brought him to the research of THE SPACE IN BETWEEN and started to collaborate with Anna Katalin Nemeth in the production of Lives In Between,Wroclaw in the spring 2019.
